1. Anyone driving a tractor must sign a release form before being allowed to pull a tractor. Drivers must be 12 years of age or older. Ages 12 to 18 must have a written parental/guardian permission. Drivers of this age must be supervised on or off track. They must also have a signed release before pulling a tractor.
2. All drivers must stay safely seated directly in seat with hands on steering wheel, throttle or hand clutch, also feet must stay on platform or pedals at all times. No one is to be at the end of the track or on the track during a pull, with the exception of the promoter or official. These are enforced for insurance and safety reasons. Not abiding by these will mean disqualification.
3. Driver on tractor must go on scales before hooking to sled to have weight & drawbar checked this is for every time you hook.
4. No dumping of clutch at take off (this means tighten chain and don’t take of jerking sled). On a pull you may stop and restart if the sled does not pass the 75 foot mark, but only one time.
5. If any part of the tractor falls off (including weights) while hooked to the sled, the pull is disqualified. Also, anything on the tractor (including tires) or sled touching the out-of-bounds line or territory will be disqualified. Tractors will be flagged to stop if front wheels reach and unsafe height, approx 18# off ground. Pay attention to flagman when pulling. Remember no one is allowed on track or at end of track except those putting on the pull (ignoring will cause disqualification).
6. Gas, diesel & LP fuels only. Naturally aspirated. Superstock 110 octane max, no alcohol or nitrous oxides any classes.
7. Any driver or any of his/her crew incapacitated due to an intoxication agent, his/her pulling vehicle will not compete for the duration of event. Drinking and driving do not mix. These are enforced for insurance and safety reasons, not abiding by these means disqualification and etc.
8. In no way will Hook ‘EM up be responsible for any theft, accident, or injury. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs allowed on premises of any event.
9. Hook ‘EM Up decision is final on or off the track at all events. If there is a problem come to us no one else can do your complaints any good.
10. Have Fun but safe tractor pulling event.
Rules For Antique Tractors — Classes 3500# to 8500# (Revised 2006)
1. Tractors must be 1959-year model or be of a line that began production in 1959 or older for all classes. Superstock 1st gear only top cut tires, Modified 1st gear only full cut tires, Modified 2nd gear only full cut tires, Modified any gear full cut tires. Weight classes are at 500lb intervals. Rules are by Hook ‘EM Up and there is NO Radar.
2. Superstock each tractor is to look standard for its year in overall appearance, with the exception of pressed wheels. It may have hydraulic pumps removed, however any tractor that has the hydraulic pump removed must have a steel plate in place, of a thickness of no less then 1/4” with all 4 bolts in place. This is due to safety reason. Fenders and other options are not required. Tractors must run factory stock block or replacement and carb., standard bore/stroke or an overbore kit for the make and model. Tractors must have the stock engine, frame, transmission, rear end and axle housing or manufacturer replacement. Stock heads and their replacements are to remain unchanged in outside appearance. No (7) bolt main block in Olivers; no (12) ort heads; no (99) heads. AC-WC/WD/WD45 can use D-17 engines; IH-H 350; M-450; JD-A/B/G can use power blocks. No 800 heads or blocks on MM’s.
3. Superstock rim width 16” max for 6500# & below, 18” max for 7,000# & above. No radials, top cut tires allowed—- no front edge cut allowed. Modified classes allowed to run cut tires & no limit on rim width.
5. Superstock may run pressed wheels front and back, but cannot pull in weight classes lower than they did with factory wheels. Farmall M, 460,560, Oliver 88, MM/U, DC Case, and JD A-60/70/G—Can not pull in classes lower then 5000#. No chrome or aluminum wheels allowed.
6. Superstock & Modified classes RPM’s (factory +20% is allowed) promoters have the right to check any tractors RPMS at any given time. Must have fan guards or shroud. All must have a working break/away kill switch and approved throttle stop. Draw bar must be 20” high max, 18" high min, and behind center of rear axle. Wheelie bars are required. They must be at least 32” behind the center of the rear axle and must have at least a 3” X 5” pad and must not be over 8” above the ground. No weight brackets or weights can extend more than 11 feet forward from center of rear axle, and no weights or brackets can extend rearward beyond the back tires.
Rules For Out-Of-Field Tractors — Classes 3500# to 16,000# (Absolutely no stroke tractors)Revised 4/16/07
1. No limit on year. 2 wheel drive tractors only. Non-turbo can pull with turbo, but turbo cannot pull with non-turbo. Tractor may pull more than once in a class but the tractor can only place one time in a class. Weight classes: (500# intervals) 3500# to 9500# (non-turbo) can pull 5mph. 10,000# to 16,000# (non-turbo) can pull 5mphs/8mph. 10,000# to 16,000# (turbo) can pull 8mph only. No hot farm or pro stock tractors will be allowed. Hook ‘EM Up holds the right to change an entry of a class due to tractors specs.
2. Factory engine, injectors, pumps, hydraulic, pto & turbos. If a curved pipe is used it much discharge forward. TA shifting allowed. Workable rear wheel brakes.
3. Rear tires must be factory, no cut tires, duals, studed or chains. Tires cannot exceed over one size larger than original tires. Tires cannot be wider than 23.1’s. Press wheels are allowed. All tires must turn in correct rotation. Tires cannot be extended over 9ft to go on weight seales.
4. All weights must be safely secured to tractor & must not extend 6: rearward beyond rear tires, (no weights or brackets to be closer than 10” to drawbar hook point). Factory weights for factory bracket of front of tractor only (no more than 24” in the front of tractor frame to front of weight). No moveable weight bracket allowed at any time.
5. 9500# and under weight classes: RPM’S20%, drawbar (max 20” height:18” length or longer) from center or axle.
6. 10,000# and up weight classes: RPM’S 3000 (governor must be in working condition and must not allow engine to exceed 3000 RPM’S under load). Point of hook must not exceed 20” height; 24” from center of axle to hooking point. No part of the drawbar may extend rearward beyond point of hook. Drawbars stationary in all directions. Top of hitch adjuster cannot be above center line of axle or hub. No eights or brackets to be closer than 10” to drawbar hook point. IH 1066 & larger cannot pull below 14,000# class—JD4430 & larger cannot pull below 14,000#.
7. All tractors must weigh and have draw bar checked before they can hook to sled. No dumping of clutch at take off (this means tighten chain and don’t jerk the sled). You may restart if front of sled does not pass the 75 foot mark. Wheelie bars are optional not required. Drivers must stay in seat one hand on wheel, throttle or hand clutch, also feet on platform. If any part of the tractor falls off (including weights) while hooked to the sled, pull is disqualified. No one on track except officials during pull.
8. Any driver or any of his/her crew incapacitated due to an intoxication agent, his/her pulling vehicle will not compete for the duration of the event. Drinking and driving don’t mix.
